The first image on this post is one of my favorites. I just printed out a 11x17 and it looks fabulous.
My hope is that most of you who check this blog ( the few of you, you know who you are!) have a decent monitor on your machines. My work horse is a NEC Multi Sync LCD 2690WUXI ( I know ! fancy name !) , I calibrate it once every two weeks to make sure that I get consistency when it comes to color , contrast, saturation and so on. I also have a laptop that is not calibrated and when I view the photos on it they look too bright or too contrasty and that because they come from the factory with brightness and contrast levels calibrated very high. So what I'm trying to say here is , photographs are supposed to be printed, in recent years with the huge explosion of digital devices ( mobile or not) that is not the case anymore, fewer people print their pictures and that is unfortunate. For me the print is still king ! On the other hand if the digital images are not post processed correctly the final print could be a disappointment .
Alright then ....
